Area Featured Nationally as a Great Place to Buy a Home

The most read newspaper in the Country today named the Charlottesville and Albemarle County area as one of the best places in the country to invest in a home.

The paper noted the area’s growing number of entertainment venues and access to cultural and outdoor amenities such as golfing, wineries, shopping, and historic properties.  Three neighborhoods were featured by the editor to highlight the diverse options of properties available in this market: Downtown Charlottesville, Ednam, and Keswick.  The article notes the area’s attention to architecture and historic preservation as a draw for those looking to retire, relocate, or invest in a second home.

According to the writers: “Take one of the nation's quintessential college towns, throw in a big slice of American history, add golf courses and wineries, set it all in prime horse country, and the result is Charlottesville.”

The article continues: “It's home to both the University of Virginia and Piedmont Community College, and its eclectic mix of restaurants, shops and architecture has been wooing buyers since Thomas Jefferson built his estate, Monticello, here.”

USA Today newspaper remains number one in total daily print circulation in the United States with a circulation of 1,891,604 for the period ending September 30, 2009. USA TODAY also boasts the largest average-issue print audience of any national newspaper, with 3.7 million readers daily with a median household income of $75,000.
