Albemarle Against Hunger 2016 Food Drive

In advance of the Thanksgiving Holiday, from October 17th to November 10th, Albemarle County employees and students are collecting food donations for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. The goal is to provide a meal for as many families as there are employees and students.

Below is a list of “most needed” items (Please, no glass containers).

  • Canned Meats: Tuna, Chicken, Spam, Meat Spreads
  • Canned Vegetables: Beans, Beans and franks, Corn, Peas, Potatoes
  • Canned Fruits: Peaches, Pears, Fruit Cocktail, Apple Sauce
  • Canned Stews and Soups: Chili, Beef Stew, Spaghetti O’s, Ravioli, Chicken noodle soup, Vegetable beef soup
  • Grains, Boxed Pasta, and Sauces: Boxed cereals, Oatmeal, Macaroni and Cheese, Spaghetti and spaghetti sauce, Boxed Rice, Dried beans
  • Beverages (non-refrigerated): Shelf Stable Milk, 100% Juice

Food Donations are being collected at the following locations:

    401 McIntire Road, Charlottesville
    2nd Floor directly across from the elevator
     
  • County Office Building
    1600 5th Street, Charlottesville
    Housing Office
     
  • Circuit Court Clerks’ Office
    315 East High Street, Charlottesville
     
  • Emergency Communications Center
    2306 Ivy Road, Charlottesville
     
  • Blue Ridge Juvenile Detention Center
    195 Peregory Lane, Charlottesville
     
  • Albemarle/Charlottesville Regional Jail
    160 Peregory Lane, Charlottesville
     
  • School Locations:  Police Officers will make pick-ups at participating schools week of Nov. 14th

Montetary donations can be made to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and sent to:
