Historic Farms of Albemarle County
Come learn about a few of Albemarle County's oldest farms including Clay Hill, Dovedale, Meadowbrook, Moreland, and Redlands.

The Great War: The War to End All Wars
Commemorating the centennial of World War I, on display from the ACHS collection, WWI posters, gas mask, mess kit, shell casings, and memorabilia from base Hospital No. 41.

A Sunny Southern: The Life and Writing of Julia Magruder
The exhibit explores the life and literary works of Charlottesville, Virginia native Julia Magruder—an internationally famous author of the late nineteenth century, whose legacy has been largely forgotten.

Vestiges and Veterans: Charlottesville’s Confederate Past
Commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, the exhibit highlights local Confederate Civil War Generals. Visitors can also view medical equipment used during the Civil War.


Historical Walking Tours: Schedule a group Historic Walking Tours with a knowledgeable ACHS guide. Take a tour of Court Square, Downtown Mall, Maplewood Cemetery, Oakwood Cemetery, or Riverview Cemetery.

Group tours (4+) can be scheduled Thursday-Saturday with a 48 hour advanced notice. To schedule a group tour, please contact ACHS at or at 434.296.1492 (Monday-Friday 9am-12pm).
