Dominion Virginia Power Preparing for Winter Weather

Dominion Virginia Power employees are preparing for the impending winter. As local media has reported, there is the potential for freezing rain across the state on Sunday and Monday. Although there is still some uncertainty in the forecast, it appears that the greatest ice potential will be in Western VA, along the I-81 corridor and in Charlottesville. As you know, freezing rain coats trees and can cause tree limbs to come down into wires. This can lead to power outages.

We encourage customers to be prepared as well! Customers can report and check the status of power outages when using the company's website at via smartphone, other mobile device or computer. You will need the account number or 10-digit phone number listed on the account, and the last four digits of your Social Security number, federal tax identification number or PIN. Another way to report an outage is by calling the automated phone system at 1-866-DOM-HELP (1-866-366-4357).

Thank you,

Susan King
