Local Public Safety Groups Participate in Flag Football Game to Benefit Local Charities
4/8/2011

Local Law Enforcement Officers will take on Charlottesville and Albemarle Professional Firefighters this weekend in the first annual Battle of the Badges Flag Football Challenge.  All proceeds will benefit the Central Virginia Burn Camp and the Virginia Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The event will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Albemarle High School. Festivities will begin at noon with displays and demonstrations from area public safety departments as well as inflatable bounces, slides and other games. Concessions will be available courtesy of the Thomas Jefferson Civitan Club.  One of the event highlights will be a dunk tank, where area Chiefs have signed on to take their chances in the "Dunk a Chief" booth.

Kick-off for the flag football game is 2:30 p.m.  Admission to the event is $2.00.  Raffle tickets will be sold for $1.00.  Items to be raffled include two UVA Team autographed footballs, as well as UVA Football game tickets.  The raffle will take place at the end of the flag football game.

Please come out and join us in our efforts to raise money for these worthy charities and enjoy the festivities.
