Agritourism: It's More Than a Farm Tour -- Training on April 6

The Central Virginia Small Business Development Center and Albemarle County are hosting an information and training session for local residents who are interested in exploring the possibilities of developing a tourism experience related to their agricultural enterprise on Wednesday, April 6, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at the County Office Building on Fifth Street.

Whether people are interested in equine festivals, a corn maze, pick-your-own berries, opening a bed & breakfast, or an enterprise of their own design, this agritourism workshop will help them develop a viable plan.

Topics will include:

  • An overview of Virginia's agritourism/agritainment possiblities
  • An overview of agritourism liability issues
  • Strategies for marketing the agritourism operation
  • Delivering exceptional customer service whether it's face-to-face or electronically

  • The Virginia Cooperative Extension
