New Fire Rescue Volunteer Website Launched
12/2/2010

Those interested in volunteering for the Albemarle County Fire Rescue System have an informative and convenient new tool to help them understand what volunteering for the County is all about.  www.joinalbemarle.org  is a new website that is part of a recruitment campaign designed by County volunteer and career fire rescue leaders to increase the number of people volunteering in Albemarle.  The recruitment campaign is being funded by a federal grant and is a call to action to the community to support the critical volunteer needs of the County emergency system.

The website features an overview of the County system and a clickable map which provides specific information about each station in the system including history and volunteer needs. The site also includes important points to consider regarding volunteering and online application forms.

Anyone interested in the possibility of volunteering is strongly encouraged to visit www.joinalbemarle.org. For more information please contact Doug Smythers at Seminole Trail Volunteer Fire Department or Kostas Alibertis at Western Albemarle Rescue Squad.
