Before you file an online report, please read the following information before proceeding to the link below. You cannot file an online report for:

• Any type of violent crime (whether completed or attempted), including, but not limited to: assault, kidnapping, and robbery.
• Any crime committed against a person due to their race, religion, ethnic or national origin, disability, and/or sexual orientation.
• Any type of sex crime (whether completed or attempted), including, but not limited to: rape or sexual assault.
• A missing or endangered person.
• Any type of stolen vehicle (whether completed or attempted), including, but not limited to: cars, trucks, trailers, motorcycles.
• An incident of road rage/aggressive driving matters.
• An incident (whether completed or attempted) involving breaking and entering of your home or business.
• An incident where physical evidence has been left behind.
• Any type of traffic crash including hit and run.
• A Noise Violations.
• A Solicitor Violations.

• Destruction of Property/Vandalism
• Larceny up
• Lost Property
• Noise Violations

• Past Suspicious Events/Persons/Vehicles

• If you would rather file a traffic enforcement request and have a member of our Traffic Unit look into the issue, please fill out a Traffic Enforcement Request
• Animal Complaint
• Stolen License Plates

• Your incident must have occurred in Albemarle County. If the incident occurred in another jurisdiction you must file a report with the law enforcement agency in that jurisdiction.

• Should the crime(s) being reported ever reach the stage of prosecution, complete information is imperative. Please fill out the report as accurately as you can.

• If you do not have complete information, please complete as many lines as you can to include all identifying information like make, model, serial numbers, and other identifying marks for property and complete descriptions, including unusual characteristics for persons. Even partial information will help.

• As with any police report, the information contained within the report is considered confidential and may only be released to those individuals who legally have a right to know. Should you want an official copy of the police report, the ACPD must verify your identity before we can release a copy. Please be prepared to verify your identity by providing a valid form of photo identification.
