The Assistant Chief Education Program (ACEP) is a course of study for officers of election (and Assistant Chiefs or Chiefs who would like a review) to learn what you need to know to serve effectively as an Assistant Chief in a polling place. The program of study is accessed by a series of recorded presentations which are on the Albemarle County Elections Training Materials playlist on YouTube. There are 11 modules in this program. The presentations are all named beginning "AC Elections ACEP" followed by the module number and name.
An outline of the curriculum can be found here.
The presentations are found here in a playlist, or you can select modules individually in the table below.
If you want to apply to be an Assistant Chief, you may want copies of the slides used in the presentations and you will want access to the tests for each module. The tests are fillable PDF files. Links to these files can be found in the table below. You will probably want to open the test files in Adobe Acrobat or another PDF reader to be able to fill in and save your responses. When you complete the tests, send the filled-in PDFs along with your letter of application and any recommendations to the Elections Manager Alex Branch. You will be informed as to whether your application is acceptable or not, and if not, why. Acceptable applications will be reviewed by the Electoral Board.
