From investing in affordable housing and economic development research to involving the community in maintaining and improving parks with the largest park expansion in Albemarle County history, Albemarle County has worked diligently to encourage a vibrant community.

Parks & Recreation established 8 miles of new multi-use trails.

Volunteers gave 2,000+ hours in service to the county's parks and trails.

Biscuit Run Park opened on December 14, 2024. At 1,190 acres in size, Biscuit Run is the largest park in Albemarle County, featuring extensive natural areas, heritage resources, 8.5 miles of signed and maintained trails, and more.

A total of 24 projects were carried out to improve and enhance Parks & Recreation operations
