Biography
Fred Missel represents the Samuel Miller District on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors. A longtime resident of Albemarle County, he has served on the Planning Commission and Architectural Review Board and spent more than two decades leading design, development, and planning initiatives with the University of Virginia Foundation.
Fred holds degrees in landscape architecture and urban planning from UVA where he now serves as an adjunct professor. His work emphasizes collaboration, fiscal responsibility, and a balanced approach to growth that protects Albemarle’s rural character while supporting affordable housing, schools, and public safety.
Fred lives in the Samuel Miller District with his family and enjoys the outdoors, community service, travel and recreation.
