The Training Department is responsible for the training of new and current employees, employment background investigations, recruiting, and also serves as the Inmate Grievance Coordinator. 

The Training Department handles new hire orientations with the assistance of our Human Resources Department, Administrative Lieutenant, and other staff, oversees on-the-job training, or “field training”, of new officers, and prepares officers for the Basic Jail Officer School at the academy.

The Training Department is also responsible for the training and training records of all current employees to include maintaining training records, coordinating training and qualifications, and registering employees for training. 

Background Investigations: 
The Training Department conducts background investigations on all employment applicants and current employees to include criminal history, driving records, work history, etc. 

The Training Department works closely with our Human Resources Department with the recruiting of new officers and for other positions as well. For more information regarding employment opportunities please see our “Employment Opportunities” section of this site. 

Inmate Grievances:
The Training Coordinator also serves as the Inmate Grievance Coordinator. This duty includes coordinating and record keeping of Inmate Grievance forms that are filed by inmates. Inmate Grievances are forwarded to the appropriate supervisor/department head. Inmate grievances are not investigated by the Inmate Grievance Coordinator, but by the appropriate supervisor/department head.
