---Update: 12/10/2025:---
Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority (RWSA) has canceled the monthly test of the Sugar Hollow Dam High Water Alert System. The recent winter weather caused delays in installing the new siren. Crews plan to be on-site in the morning to remove the old siren and install the new one. As a result, the alert system will be offline during the scheduled test. During installation and initial startup, residents might hear the siren activate briefly. If heard, there is no need to seek higher ground.
RWSA monthly testing will resume on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
