Applications are now open for Albemarle County's Affordable Housing Investment Fund (AHIF).
The AHIF provides grant funding to support the creation and preservation of affordable housing in Albemarle County through new construction, rehabilitation, and property conversion projects.
Qualified developers and organizations are invited to apply by midnight on July 31, 2026.

We encourage our community to take time now to prepare and know what to do as storms move through the area.
• Make sure your house number is clearly visible from the street
• Prepare essential supplies for your household, including medications, food, pet supplies, and other necessities
• Charge cell phones and backup batteries
• Check on neighbors, older adults, and others who may need extra assistance
• Avoid travel unless necessary. If you must drive, use caution, keep headlights and windshield wipers on, and never drive through flooded or debris-covered roads
If you lose power, report the outage directly to your electric provider and stay away from downed power lines. Always assume they are energized and keep at least 30 feet of distance. Keep flashlights ready, charge devices, and stay informed as conditions change.
Check your electric provider’s outage map for updates and visit vaemergency.gov for additional preparedness and safety information.
