Post Date:08/16/2026The Albemarle County Police Department (ACPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred in Albemarle County after officers initially responded to a reported domestic disturbance.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. on August 15, ACPD officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Harvest Drive for a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived approximately two minutes later but were unable to determine that a crime had occurred at that location.
Shortly thereafter, the Charlottesville Police Department (CPD) received a report of an individual who had been shot in the 2100 block of Ivy Road. The victim was transported to UVA Medical Center and is currently listed in stable condition. The victim initially reported that the shooting occurred in the City of Charlottesville. As ACPD officers continued their investigation, they determined that the shooting had actually occurred in Albemarle County, instead of the City.
