ACFR Responds to Structure Fire on East Keswick Drive
Post Date:08/14/2026 8:52 PMOn Friday, August 14, 2026, at approximately 6:04 p.m., career and volunteer personnel from Albemarle County Fire Rescue were dispatched to a report of a structure fire in the 1000 block of East Keswick Drive in Keswick.
The first fire suppression apparatus arrived on scene approximately nine minutes after dispatch and encountered smoke showing from the front door of the single-family residence. One adult, one juvenile, and their two dogs were safely evacuated from the home.
The displaced residents are being assisted by family and friends. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office but is believed to have originated from a lightning strike.
