ACPD Arrests Wanted Felon on Drug and Weapons Charges
Post Date:07/01/2026The Albemarle County Police Department, in conjunction with the 3A Narcotics Task Force, arrested a wanted Charlottesville man on felony drug and weapons charges.
On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at approximately 2:35 p.m., officers conducted a warrant service in the area of 1600 5th Street Extended and took 32-year-old Tahim R. Mayo into custody without incident. While being taken into custody, officers recovered a firearm and a substantial distribution amount of narcotics on his person.
Mayo was wanted on outstanding charges of:
• Using or selling fentanyl for a terror act (§18.2-46.6)
• Possessing a firearm with Schedule I/II narcotics (§18.2-308.4)
• Possession with intent to distribute marijuana (§18.2-248.1)
• Two counts of possessing a firearm by a non-violent felon (§18.2-308.2)
• Three counts of possession of a Schedule I/II narcotic with intent to distribute (§18.2-248)
He is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond.
