Albemarle County Police Department Makes Arrests for Child Sex Crime
Post Date:06/03/2026Following a month-long investigation, the Albemarle County Police Department executed search warrants on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, leading to the arrest of a Scottsville man for sex crimes involving a child under the age of 15.
The victim reported to ACPD on Monday, April 20, 2026, that the alleged abuse and exploitation occurred continuously from 2005 to 2009. Following the initial investigation and execution of the search warrants, detectives arrested 80-year-old Montie C. Duncan and charged him with one felony count of taking indecent liberties with a child (§18.2-370a).
Duncan is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond.
