On Thursday, September 4, 2025, the Albemarle County Police Department received a report of a hit-and-run involving a child. The incident occurred between 7:10 and 7:25 am at the intersection of Porters Road and King Solomons Lane in Esmont.

The child sustained an injury to their foot and was transported to UVA Health for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, the suspect vehicle is believed to be a dark blue sedan. ACPD is asking the public to come forward with any information that may lead to locating the suspect vehicle in this incident. Anyone who was traveling in this area is encouraged to check their dash cam footage.

ACPD’s Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate this incident. Anyone with information or who may have captured footage is asked to contact Officer Sprouse at 434-296-5807.
