Purpose

Albemarle County's Community Advisory Committees (CACs) are committees that meet monthly to support County staff and the Board of Supervisors in implementing their development area's Master Plan. CAC members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Each committee has a liaison from the Planning Commission, Board of Supervisors, and County Planning staff.

The Places 29-Hydraulic Community Advisory Committee (CAC) meets monthly to support County staff, the Planning Commission, and the Board of Supervisors in implementing the Places29 Master Plan. These meetings are open to the public and provide an opportunity for open conversation about ongoing development in the area.

The Places 29 Hydraulic Community Advisory Committee meets on the second Monday of each month from 5:30 - 7 PM (with the exception of July and December).

Our Community, Our Wellbeing: Understanding the Data

All-Community Advisory Committee Meeting

 Understanding the Data - BANNERJoin us for an evening of learning about the state of wellbeing in our community. This event will feature presentations on three key reports that provide context on the challenges and opportunities we share across the region:

  • Community Wellbeing Profile: Explore trends in health, education, economic security, and housing in Albemarle County. The profile utilizes the American Human Development Index to provide a comprehensive view of community wellbeing.

  • Orange Dot Report: Learn about the income gap between what families earn and what they need to be self-sufficient. This report highlights key economic pressures households face and helps us understand the local landscape of financial stability and opportunity.

  • MAPP2Health Report: The 2025 Community Health Assessment offers insights into local health challenges and the community context that shapes healthier lives.

The evening features presentations followed by a Q&A session, providing attendees with an opportunity to explore and discuss the data together. This event is free and open to the public.
