Board/Commission Name Workforce Investment Board 
Introduction/Overview/Duties The Board will develop the vision, goals, objectives, policies, and strategic local plan, designate or certify One Stop Centers, appoint a Youth Council, and promote private sector participation. 
Length of Term Terms are staggered. After original terms, all subsequent terms will be three years in length. 
Frequency/Times for Meetings This Board meets quarterly, at least. 
Membership The Board must be made up of a majority of private sector representatives. Other members include representatives of education, economic development, labor, community-based organizations, and One Stop required partners. 
Qualifications Business and industry leaders are nominated by organizations, other business leaders, or themselves. The applicant or nominator must submit a nomination form to TJPDC. The names will be forwarded to the appropriate governing body. Local elected officials make appointments. The Consortium of Chief Local Elected Officials from the geographic area will appoint representatives for education, economic development, labor, community-based organizations, and One Stop required partners from nominations.
