Board/Commission Name Community Mobility Committee Formerly Single-Occupant Vehicle Alternatives Committee) 
Introduction/Overview/Duties The Committee shall help Charlottesville and Albemarle develop strategies to decrease the dependence on the single-occupant automobile. The Committee will focus on strategies for increasing ridership on transit and participation in car/vanpooling, and helping the region prepare for initiatives such as ITS and light rail. It will coordinate efforts with other related area groups, initiatives and programs. It will report no less than quarterly to the MPO Technical Committee and Policy Board. 
Length of Term Two years. 
Frequency/Times for Meetings The Community Mobility Committee meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the TJPDC office. 
Membership In addition to a core group from the MPO Technical Committee, the committee will have one advisory appointed by the City and one by the County. The representatives could be citizens, planning commissioners, members of the business community, or anyone suitable for this work.
