Introduction/Overview/Duties The Board determines policy for the operation of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Joint Security Complex. Determines policy related to personnel, budget and correctional matters 
Length of Term Terms of citizen members are three years each, limited to three full terms. 
Frequency/Times for Meetings The Board meets the second Thursday of each month at 12:30 p.m. at the jail in the Muster Room, located on lower level of facility Lobby 2) 
Membership The Board consists of the Sheriff of Albemarle, one member of the Board of Supervisors appointed for two year terms), one citizen member from Albemarle county, the Sheriff of the City, one member of City Council, one citizen member from the City, and one member to be appointed jointly by the City and County. Members may receive $240.00 per year in accordance with Virginia Code.
