BACKGROUND:

Quarterly updates have been provided to the County Board on the status of the Neighborhood Model implementation and other major initiatives over the last two years. Community Development expanded this update to include discussion of other projects. This update has been expanded to cover four months, but quarterly updates are planned for the future.   

 

STRATEGIC PLAN: 

GOAL: Provide effective, responsive and courteous service to our customers

 

DISCUSSION:

The attached quarterly update provides a snapshot on the status of projects being managed by Community Development. The last quarter has seen considerable progress in projects ready for consideration by the Planning Commission and Board. 

 

Among the Comprehensive Plan projects anticipated to come before the Board in early 2004 are:

·            Crozet Master Plan

·            Rural Area Plan

·            Affordable Housing

·            Community Facilities Plan

·            Stormwater Master Plan

 

Among the ordinance amendments anticipated to come before the Board in early 2004 are:

·            Subdivision Ordinance changes related to the Neighborhood Model, 2nd part

·            Zoning Ordinance changes related to the Neighborhood Model, 2nd part.

·            Relegated Parking, changes related to Neighborhood Model

·            Groundwater program

·            Wireless policy amendments (mid year)

·            Sign policy amendments  (mid year)

·            "Housekeeping" amendments to Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances in support of new department.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

None.  Advise Community Development as to any changes in the prioritization of projects which the County Board would like to see.
