March 1, 2002

Kick-Off meeting for the Master Plan process: introduction of the project, presentation from expert outside of the process, and community brainstorm on vision elements


May 16, 2002

Community meeting to discuss Crozet and the neighborhood model: presentation & facilitated discussion emphasizing Neighborhood Model elements present in existing Crozet development pattern


August 1, 2002

Community Meeting #1 – Begin actual work on the Master Plan


September-November, 2002

Community Task Groups: organized by topic (vision principle or other) assess current reality, review work to date (consultant and/or staff presentation), facilitated feedback


October 2, 2002

Community Meeting #2: Discussing New Center possibilities


October 14, 2002

Developer’s Open House – Sharing of current development proposals with the community


November 2, 2002

Community Meeting #3 -- New Center Alternatives  -- Consultants presenting Framework alternatives with facilitated process around concepts and preferred options


December 12, 2003

Community Meeting #4: present draft Framework Plan, with directions on how feedback from community will be facilitated


December 16, 2002

Present Framework Plan to Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission: work session for agreement 


February 27, 2003         

Community Meeting #5: Evolving the Plan—Community Design Activities 


April 30, 2003

Community Meeting #6: Final Master Plan presentation

Final Presentation to Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission

o        Communication of key concepts of the Master Plan (Neighborhood Model, Centers, Guiding Principals), illustrative drawings, and their resulting implementation strategies

During this period of time, five (5) facilitated work sessions, open to the public, were conducted by the Planning Commission

Citizens Information meeting at Henley Middle School to provide community with an additional opportunity for questions and comments
