Crozet Park Parking Lot Improvements

The parking lot at Claudius Crozet Park is being improved this summer. The purpose of this work is to provide additional parking and create a more efficient circulation pattern that enhances pedestrian safety. Construction began on Tuesday, July 5, and is expected to continue through Saturday, October 5.

During this construction period, please consider the parking area an active construction site. Drive slowly, be alert, and follow all posted signage. Work is being staged in order to provide parking at all times, so available parking areas will shift as work progresses. Handicap spaces will be available along the front of the building throughout much of the project. Disruption to handicap spaces will be held to a minimum. The map below indicates where parking is currently restricted and will be updated throughout the project. Construction work will wrap up by 3 pm to accommodate the Crozet Gators Swim Meet on July 20.

Once completed, the new circulation pattern will direct cars to the south of the upper playground and then curve around to the back of the facility by the basketball courts. Overflow event parking will continue to take place on the basketball courts, the grassed areas along the main park exit, and around the pond. The area between the playground and summer swim entrance will be changed to pedestrian-use only.

For specific questions about the project, please contact John Anderson, or call 434-872-4501.
