Tree Trimming Begins Monday on Rt. 250 Bypass

Motorists should stay alert for traffic controls, use caution approaching work zone

On June 13, a contractor with the Virginia Department of Transportation will trim vegetation to improve visibility on the Route 250 Bypass in both directions at the Barracks Road entrance and exit ramps in Albemarle County.

Beginning at 9 a.m. in the eastbound location, the merge lane from the entrance ramp to Route 250 Bypass east will be closed. Due to the shortened merge lane, motorists should use caution moving into the travel lane. Motorists on Route 250 Bypass eastbound should stay alert for merging traffic as they approach the work zone.

After work is complete at the eastbound location, the contractor will move to the westbound location to trim vegetation on Route 250 Bypass west at the exit ramp to Barracks Road. To avoid impacts to rush hour traffic, any trimming work at the westbound location not completed by 4 p.m. will be performed Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m.

All work is weather permitting. Motorists should remain alert for traffic controls and use caution approaching the work zone.
