Introducing the Inns of Charlottesville
9/30/2015

The newly formed group of bed & breakfasts and inns offer a wonderful lodging experience in Jefferson’s wine country

The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau (CACVB) is proud to introduce the “Inns of Charlottesville”. This group of area bed & breakfast inns recently formed to promote themselves and the B&B segment of the local lodging industry. All members are inspected, licensed, approved, pay taxes, and conform to high standards of conduct and quality. “Inns of Charlottesville” currently has eleven members and most of them have been local innkeepers for more than five years.

Visitors to the Charlottesville area can enhance their vacation experience by staying at an “Inns of Charlottesville” B&B while visiting nearby area attractions. Early American history buffs might enjoy overnighting at historic properties such as The Inn at Court Square (1785), the Dinsmore House (1800’s), The Inn at the Crossroads (1820), Prospect Hill (whose oldest building dates to 1699) or The Inn at Monticello (1856). Those visiting wineries or the Shenandoah National Park might appreciate the convenience of lodging at The Inn at Sugar Hollow, Cedar Spring Inn, Foxfield Inn or Arcady Vineyard B&B – all are close to some of the best area wineries, and Arcady even has its own vines! For those who enjoy city life, restaurants, cafés, and the arts, the Inn at 400 West High is located within a few blocks of the Downtown Mall. And for area residents who have never been tubing on the James, or who want to visit Scottsville, there’s High Meadows Vineyard Inn, a Victorian era inn.

Another advantage for those who stay at one of the “Inns of Charlottesville” bed & breakfasts is that they can get to know visitors from all parts of the U.S. and many foreign countries during breakfast or at other times. In addition, members provide great advice and make arrangements for all guests - the Innkeepers in this association are all knowledgeable about local restaurants, music venues, theaters, UVA events, and more.

“We know what true hospitality is”, says Kathryn Bundy of Foxfield Inn, “and we want to make our neighbors visit and feel as welcome as those who travel here from afar.”
