Albemarle County’s FY16 Recommended Operating and Capital Budget Now Available

Albemarle County’s Recommended Operating and Capital Budget for Fiscal Year 2016 is now available on the County website at County Executive Tom Foley presented the proposed budget to the Board of Supervisors on Thursday, February 19. During that discussion, Mr. Foley reviewed the economic challenges facing Local Government and Public Schools in the years ahead, introduced the proposed budget, provided details on impacts of the budget to the County Capital Program and Fire Rescue services, and highlighted community impacts and engagement opportunities. A series of work sessions and public hearings with the Board of Supervisors are scheduled throughout February, March, and April. The public is encouraged to attend to learn more and be heard during this important community discussion.

February 23 6 pm Public Hearing on County Executive's Recommended Budget
  24 5 pm Board of Supervisors (BOS) Budget Work Session
  26 3 pm BOS Budget Work Session
March 3 3 pm BOS Budget Work Session, Finalize Tax Rate for Advertisement
  11 3 pm BOS Budget Work Session
April 1 6 pm Public Hearing on BOS' Proposed Budget
  8 6 pm Public Hearing on the Calendar Year 2015 (CY15) tax rate
  14 3 pm BOS sets the CY15 tax rate, adopts FY16 Budget and FY16-20 Capital Improvement Plan (if not approved on the 8th)
