Albemarle County Local Government Announces 2015 Annual Report to the Community

Celebrating Progress During a Year of Opportunity and Challenge

Albemarle County local government is pleased to present you with our 2015 Annual Report to the Community, “Celebrating Progress During a Year of Opportunity and Challenge” which outlines our work and accomplishments from last year. The Report will be included as an insert in the February 22, 2015 edition of the Daily Progress and is currently available for download at

In 2014, we celebrated many important endeavors in the face of continued economic challenges due to the slow and uneven pace of our recovery from the recession. We realized the completion of many capital projects including the Crozet Streetscape and the Seminole Trail Volunteer Fire Department. We broke ground on exciting new facilities like the Northside library, set to open this spring. Read more about these projects on page 3 of the annual report. We were recognized for achievements like being named #2 Most Technologically Advanced County Government in the country for our population by the Center for Digital Government and National Association of Counties and receiving the National Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Budgeting Award for the 9th year. Learn more about these and other notable highlights on pages 4 and 5.

In 2015 we look to build on an approach of innovative solutions and careful strategic investments that support our organization’s sustainability and create capacity. The Board’s Strategic Plan provides the framework for directing these innovation and investment strategies.  Read about the Board’s Strategic Plan on page 7.
With the accomplishments of 2014 to reinforce and encourage us, we embark into 2015 a strong, connected, innovative and agile organization.
