Board of Supervisors' December Town Hall Meeting Dates

Board members are continuing to host town hall meetings in December to inform the public about the Five-Year Plan process and to receive constituent feedback. The Five-Year Plan brings together the three major components of the County budget - schools, general government, and capital improvements - and seeks to balance anticipated revenues and expenditures for the next five years to inform annual budget development.

The preliminary five-year financial plan currently projects an $8.1 million gap between projected revenues and identified "catching up" and "keeping up" expenditures for local government and schools for the next fiscal year. That gap would increase to $26 million by fiscal year 2020. Supervisors are conducting town hall meetings to get public feedback about strategies for filling the projected gap, which could range from eliminating services and scaling back expectations to adjusting the tax rate or considering special tax districts.
