Albemarle County Invites Online Engagement and Asks Citizens to Take Part in Planning for Community's Future

Albemarle County is pleased to announce the launch of Engage Albemarle, a new comprehensive community engagement website where citizens can connect, communicate and collaborate with community decision makers and other residents on the future of our community.

The purpose of Engage Albemarle is to provide an accessible and transparent way for the community to get involved in the decision-making processes. Along the way, Engage Albemarle will be used as an interactive platform to generate new ideas and feedback from citizens. Feedback from the site will be used by decision makers throughout the County in order to lay out plans on a variety of projects.

Engage Albemarle gives contributors a chance to share new ideas, second others' ideas, expand upon existing ideas and give feedback on initiatives, working with community leaders, who can easily communicate back with citizens through the site, on a variety of topics online anytime, anywhere. Additionally, the site's reporting function delivers measurable results and invaluable insights for the planning process.

The discussion will start with topics like these, and branch off from there based on input:

  • What would you like to see addressed in the Comprehensive Plan?
  • How can Albemarle County best communicate with you on important issues?
  • What kind of information would you like to find on a mobile Albemarle County website?

"We're enthusiastic about the opportunity to build community contributors through this site," said Tom Foley, County Executive. "Ideas, voices and perspectives can be shared on Engage Albemarle to facilitate deeper and more meaningful conversations that yield actionable insights and a stronger community."
