5/12/2014

Albemarle County Supervisors Brad Sheffield (Rio District) and Diantha McKeel (Jack Jouett District) are co-hosting a community meeting to present the US29 Advisory Panel’s concept recommendations package. The intent of this meeting is to provide the public with an understanding of the projects recommended, the impacts they will have on the larger transportation network, and an opportunity to ask questions and/or express concerns regarding implementation.  Details on the concept recommendation package can be found on the Virginia Department of Transporation's website.

The meeting will be held at the Charlottesville Albemarle Technical Education Center (CATEC) at 1000 East Rio Road in Charlottesville on Tuesday, May 27th from 7 – 9pm.

Community members will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss areas of concern and interest related to these topics. All citizens are invited and strongly encouraged to attend these meetings.

The Board of Supervisors will discuss the recommended solution plan at their meeting on May 14, with action by the Board a possibility.  The public comment section of the Board’s May 14 meeting will begin at 7:00 pm, and discussion of this item will occur later in the meeting. The US29 Panel’s concept recommendations package will be presented to the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB)on May 13, with possible action by the CTB scheduled for June 18.
