Albemarle Parks and Recreation to Recognize Volunteers at an Appreciation Celebration on October 19

Albemarle County Parks and Recreation will hold an appreciation celebration on Saturday, October 19, 2013 to thank the numerous park volunteers who help to keep Albemarle County’s parks in great shape. The celebration will take place at Mint Springs Valley Park (Shelter #1) and will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be food, drinks and prize giveaways.

  • Patricia Ann Byrom Forest Preserve – 1,217 volunteer hours
  • Preddy Creek – 483 volunteer hours
  • Old Mills Trail (greenway) – 265 volunteer hours

While this event is not open to the public, anyone interested in signing up to volunteer with Albemarle County Parks and Recreation in the future is invited to attend.
