County Police Participate in "Tip-A-Cop" Fundraiser to Benefit Special Olympics Virginia

Officers with the Albemarle County Police Department, along with other area Law Enforcement, will soon be serving up burgers and fries to bring in big bucks for the Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Virginia. Officers, deputies and law enforcement professionals will be waiting tables this Saturday, October 12 at the Red Robin and they hope you’ll help by leaving them a big tip!  All proceeds from the “Tip-A-Cop” fundraiser will go directly to the Special Olympics Virginia.

“Tip-A-Cop” is an event in conjunction with the Law Enforcement Torch Run.  Local law enforcement officers will serve as “celebrity waiters” during lunch and dinner shifts at Red Robin locations across the Commonwealth.

In our area, officers will be serving at the Red Robin at Fashion Square Mall on Saturday, October 12, 2013.  The fundraiser will take place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and then again from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Customers can place a separate tip for the Special Olympics in an envelope on their table.  This tip is in addition to the normal gratuity they leave their server.

“Tip-A-Cop” is one of the many events that the Albemarle County Police Department participates in to support Special Olympics Virginia.  Please help us in our goal to support this worthy cause.
