Community Meeting on New Northside Library August 22

Members of the public are cordially invited to a community meeting to discuss Albemarle County’s Northside Library project on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the current Northside Library location at Albemarle Square Shopping Center.

This project will provide a permanent location for the Northside Library at 705 Rio Road (former Phillips Building) and also will provide long-term County warehouse/ storage space at a significant cost savings to the County. The new facility, involving repurposing of an existing building, will provide approximately 30,000 square feet of library space, and over 20,000 square feet of warehouse space.  Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2014 with completion late 2014/early 2015.

The August 22 information session will be led by the project consultants, HBM Architects, and will include an overview of the current state of library planning and design as well as the opportunity for attendees to provide feedback on priorities, features and services for the new facility.
