Albemarle County Police Department Receive Reaccreditation Award
11/7/2012

Today, Board of Supervisors presented the Albemarle County Police Department's reaccreditation certificate from the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC).

The Department successfully completed the recertification process for the Virginia Law Enforcement Accreditation Program, signifying a commitment to law enforcement excellence.  This reflects that the Albemarle County Police Department is operating at the highest level of professional performance based on objective standards used to measure performance by agencies across Virginia. This is the third time the Department has been reaccreditated since first being accreditated in 2000.

To receive reaccreditation, the agency met all applicable program standards, maintained accreditation files on an on-going basis and provided annual verifications of compliance as required by the Commission. On-site assessments by specially trained program assessors assure consistency and full compliance of all accredited agencies.
