Fire Prevention Week is October 7-14

The Albemarle County Fire Rescue (ACFR) is announcing the following activities in honor of Fire Prevention Week:

Sunday, October 7
ACFR’s Fire Marshal’s Office & Training Division, Hollymead Fire Rescue, and Albemarle County Fire Corps are working together to host a live sprinkler demonstration in the parking lot at Target at 1PM.

Monday, October 8
ACFR’s Fire Marshal’s Office and the crew from Stony Point Fire Company will be promoting our free smoke detector program along with NFPA’s “Have Two Ways Out” theme at Stony Point Market from 11AM-1PM located at 4370 Stony Point Road.    https://www.facebook.com/#!/TheStonyPointMarket

Tuesday, October 9
ACFR’s Fire Marshal’s Office will be on site at North Garden’s Crossroads Store (4916 Plank Road) from 10:30AM-1PM promoting our free smoke detector program along with NFPA’s “Have Two Ways Out” theme.

Wednesday, October 10
Beginning at 4PM, ACFR’s Fire Marshal’s Office, Fire Corps, and Seminole Trail Volunteer Fire Company members will be partnering with Domino’s Pizza on site at Domino’s (2335 Seminole Trail) to promote NFPA’s pizza for smoke detector program. Order a pizza between 4PM and 7PM and have your pizza delivered by a firefighter! If your home has working smoke alarms, your next pizza is free! If there aren't working alarms, ACFR will replace the battery and/or the smoke alarm unit in the home free of charge.

Thursday, October 11
Subway at Mill Creek (32 Mill Creek Drive) is partnering with ACFR’s Fire Marshal’s Office, Albemarle County Fire Corps and Monticello Fire Rescue to promote our free smoke detector program along with NFPA’s “Have Two Ways Out” theme.

Friday, October 12
ACFR’s Fire Marshal’s Office & Seminole Trail Volunteer Fire Company members will be partnering with Sam’s Club (970 Hilton Heights Road) promoting our free smoke detector program along with NFPA’s “Have Two Ways Out” theme.  (Light refreshments graciously provided by Sam’s Club).

Sunday, October 14
ACFR’s Fire Marshal’s Office will be on site at Sear’s (Fashion Square Mall) from 12PM-4PM promoting our free smoke detector program along with NFPA’s “Have Two Ways Out” theme during their annual safety day.
