David Puckett Promoted to Deputy Chief of Albemarle County Fire Rescue

David PuckettAlbemarle County is pleased to announce that David Puckett has been named Deputy Chief of Albemarle County Fire Rescue (ACFR). Puckett, who brings nearly 20 years of experience to this position, joined the ACFR staff in 1998 as a firefighter before rising to the ranks of Captain and Battalion Chief.  Puckett became the department’s first Battalion Chief in 2007. 

Puckett will lead the operations division of the department where he will be responsible for the day to day operations of the County’s career staff, managing the division’s operating and capital budgets, overseeing the department’s fire and EMS operations, overseeing the addition of services in Pantops and Ivy. He will work directly with all of Albemarle County’s volunteer system partners to provide the highest quality services aimed at protecting and enhancing the lives, property, and environment of our community.
