Fire Rescue to Hold Community Meeting for East Ivy Fire Rescue Station on November 2

A new fire rescue station is planned for East Ivy in 2013

A responsive, professional fire rescue system is vital to our community’s well-being. In response to a gap in future service and an increase in demand for services in the Ivy area and urban areas west of the City of Charlottesville, a new fire rescue station is planned for East Ivy in 2013.

Albemarle County Fire Rescue will host a community meeting on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Murray Elementary School (3251 Morgantown Road). Residents can learn about volunteer opportunities and meet Fire Rescue and Facility Development staff involved in the planning. Residents of the greater Ivy area as well as anyone interested in learning about volunteer & career opportunities should attend.

The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors is committed to ensuring the best possible emergency services at the most cost-effective price and this new fire rescue station is part of important infrastructure improvements for Albemarle County.
