Albemarle's Fire Corps Team Recognized for Community Service Efforts

The Fire Corps division of Albemarle County’s Fire Rescue Department was recently highlighted on the National Fire Corps website for its service to the community. Specifically, the Albemarle Fire Corps Team was applauded for its fire prevention efforts, assistance to residents affected by fire, and institution of the Citizen Fire Rescue Academy to educate residents about fire rescue operations.

According to the national Fire Corps website, “Fire Corps teams across the U.S. play an important role in helping fire/EMS departments with non-emergency tasks. Founded in 2010, Albemarle County Fire Corps volunteers assist their department and community in a variety of ways, including family support, fundraising, special event planning, photography, graphic design, fire prevention, and assisting with fire and EMS training activities.”
