Albemarle Fire Rescue Department to Kick Off Red and Pink Fridays on September 30

With the past month being the 10th year anniversary of 9/11 and October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, career staff members of Albemarle County Fire Rescue are trading in our traditional blue shirts for Red and Pink shirts.  Both of these causes have strong impacts for our employees.  The staff wishes to show our collective support for both of these causes by bearing out new shirts.

For the month of October, on Fridays, staff will be wearing pink shirts to support Breast Cancer Awareness.

Then starting in November, staff will be wearing red shirts every Friday though out the year.  The red shirt is a way staff can show support for the men and women serving in our country’s armed services.
