2011 Charlottesville Community Fall Job Fair to be Held September 29

The 2011 Charlottesville Community Fall Job Fair will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville. More than 70 employers from a wide variety of industries such as hospitality, healthcare, retail, food service, education, and government are expected to be in attendance. The fair is open to the public and admission for job seekers is free. We do ask that job seekers pre-register online at: There will be a resource room available onsite where job seekers can get assistance with interviewing and résumé writing, as well as an image room where job seekers can get free professional clothing. Workshops will also be held throughout the day on topics such as staying motivated during the job search and starting a business.

Prior to the job fair, there will be several opportunities for job seekers to get assistance. Every Wednesday in September (14th, 21st, and 28th) at the Workforce Center (2211 Hydraulic Road, Charlottesville), the Virginia Employment Commission will hold workshops on job fair related topics from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. For more information, please call 434-963-2960.

The fair is sponsored by the City of Charlottesville in partnership with Albemarle County, the Department of Rehab Services, the International Rescue Committee, National College, Offender Aid & Restoration, Piedmont Virginia Community College, Piedmont Workforce Network, The Adult Learning Center, the Virginia Employment Commission, and the Virginia Workforce Center.
