County Residents Prepare to Graduate from Citizen Fire Rescue Academy

After 18 hours of training over the past seven weeks, the next class of Albemarle County’s Citizen Fire Rescue Academy is prepared to graduate. The graduation ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 14, 2010 at 6:30 p.m., Monticello Fire Station, 25 Mill Creek Drive.

The Citizen Fire Rescue Academy is designed for people who have a genuine desire to learn about the daily life of firefighters, who want to increase fire and life safety awareness, and who wish to increase the awareness of the services provided by the Albemarle County Department of Fire Rescue.

“We are very pleased to offer an opportunity for Albemarle County residents to learn more about fire safety awareness and we are extremely proud of this year’s graduating class,” says Kathryn Presson, Fire Corps Administrator for the Albemarle County Citizen Services Unit. “We look forward to offering more opportunities for citizens to get involved in the future.”
