Albemarle County Police Department Release Foxfield Arrest Report

The Albemarle County Police Department reports that a total 55 arrests were made during the Foxfield Races on April 30th, 2011.  There were 28 custodial arrests, the majority of which were for public intoxication.  Other custodial arrests included underage possession of alcohol.

Officers released 27 persons on summonses for various on view criminal violations to include underage possession of alcohol, possession of fictitious identification and possession of marijuana.

Officers assigned to traffic duties along Garth Road and Free Union Road issued 61 summonses for various motor vehicle infractions, most of which were related to defective equipment, state inspection and registration violations.  These officers worked one minor crash.

The Albemarle County Police Department was assisted by special agents with the Virginia ABC Bureau of Law Enforcement, deputies with the Albemarle County Sheriff's Office, officers with the University of Virginia Police Department and troopers with the Virginia State Police.
