
 Albemarle County, Charlottesville Host State Economic Development Conference on Friday

Economic development professionals from across Virginia will gather at the Virginia Economic Developers Association annual spring conference on Friday, April 8, at the Omni Hotel beginning at 9:00 am. The conference will focus on economic development opportunities in the healthcare industry, with panel discussions exploring the impact of hospitals and health care systems on the economic vitality of local communities and also examining how communities can foster biomedical and medically-related companies’ growth in Virginia.
The conference will feature a tour of the new Martha Jefferson Hospital on Pantops and also will include several local speakers as members of the panels. “We are pleased to welcome economic development professionals from across the state to learn more about the thriving healthcare and biomedical community in Charlottesville and Albemarle County”, said County Executive Tom Foley.
