Workshop Offers Insight on Selling to the Government

Learn tips on how to focus on federal, state and local markets

In good and challenging times, opening new markets for your products is a high priority. The Central Virginia Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) of Central Virginia are sponsoring a workshop teach you how to expand your business with federal, state and local governments.
Hear from representatives about federal opportunities, including the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). Discover how to make your business available for disaster response contracting. Learn about the federal 8(a) program. Get up-to-date on the "Selling to the Commonwealth" program, getting SWAM-certified, and the bidding process for goods and services.

For those interested in contracts with the Virginia Department of Transportation, VDOT representatives will be also be present to review their certification and bidding process.

Representatives from the City of Charlottesville, County of Albemarle, the Virginia Sheriffs' Association, and the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport Authority will provide information on local opportunities. PTAC, SBDC, and Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE®) representatives will also be available for assistance.
