Glenmore Incident Update

The Albemarle County Police Department has concluded its investigation into the incident occurring Sunday evening, August 29, 2010.  The victim in this case is believed to have been struck by a "stray" bullet.

During the investigation, Detectives located a residence in the 3700 block of Richmond Road, where they believe the shots originated from.  At this residence, detectives located an area where several individuals had been "target shooting" with firearms.  It was additionally determined that these firearms were being discharged at the same time that the victim was struck on Darby Road.

There were multiple subjects participating at the makeshift firing range Sunday evening and all have been cooperative with the investigation.

After consultation with the Commonwealth's Attorney's office, it has been determined that no criminal charges will be placed at this time.
