EDEP SITE FACILITATOR I

EXTENDED DAY ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

Red Hill Elementary School

                               

 Part-Time, 10 months

 

The Site Facilitator I is responsible for providing supervision for the Extended Day Enrichment Program in the school where assigned.   Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintains a safe work environment;
  • Establishes and maintains high standards of behavior for staff and students;
  •  Maintains accurate daily attendance records/knowledge of EDEP database;
  •  Prepares and implements lesson plans;
  • Attends biweekly meetings with EDEP supervisor;
  • Participates in all EDEP programs (Student Holiday, Spring Break, Inclement Weather);
  •  Oversees the distribution of snacks;
  • Coordinates activities and special events;
  •  Meets students at designated time and location;
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relations with EDEP staff and school staff;
  • Exhibits positive public relations;
  • Upholds school rules, policies, and procedures;
  • Attends required training sessions;
  •  Enforces EDEP policies
  • Assists with evaluation of site staff as requested by EDEP supervisor;
  • Exhibits dependable work habits;
  • Performs related duties as assigned by the administration in accordance with the school/system policies and practices. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to keep accurate records; ability to manage and motivate people; and ability to work effectively with administrators, teachers, parents and students.  Must be certified in first aid.  Candidates must possess a four-year college degree; have a minimum of one year of experience in elementary education or a related field; and a minimum of one year of experience in supervising a staff is preferred.  Pursuant to state law, individuals applying for employment with the Albemarle County Public Schools for any position shall be required to disclose prior convictions of law other than minor traffic violations or juvenile offenses.  Information provided by applicants may be verified by work history, personal reference or criminal record inquiries to determine the applicant's acceptability for employment.  

 

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:  Duties are performed typically in a school setting to include: classroom, gym, auditorium and recreational areas.  Frequent walking, standing, light lifting, up to 40 pounds, and other limited physical activities are required.  Occasional travel with students on field trips. Frequent movement of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required. Occasional lifting of equipment such as audio-visuals weighing up to 50 pounds may be required.  Daily contact with the primary classroom teacher(s).  Daily personal and close contact with children to provide classroom management and learning environment support is required.  Regular contact with other staff members, parents and medical professionals may be required.

 

SALARY:   $12.47 - 14.96/Hourly, depending on experience and qualifications

 

HOURS:  Vary dependant upon the needs of the individual site
