Albemarle County Executive Bob Tucker presented his recommended Fiscal Year 10/11 Combined Operating and Capital Budget to the Board of Supervisors today. The budget totaled $293.8 million, which is a decrease of $10.3 million or 3.4% from the FY 09/10 adopted budget and a decrease of $40 million or 11.9% from the FY 08/09 adopted budget.  The proposed budget is balanced on a 74.2 cent tax rate following direction provided by the Board of Supervisors in January, which results in a tax decrease for county property owners due to declining reassessments.
